Today NTU had their project exhibition for the Engineering Innovation Design students whereby they had to form groups of 12 and produce an innovative design, produce a business plan as well as manufacture the product have it tested. After all these has been done, brochures and posters has to be done and put up on the booth, judges would decide the outcome of the exhibition. Apparently, overall winners would receive $1400. Dar & his group of 12 manufactured this product
"It is a revolutionisedwalking aid device that is capable of transforming into different walking aid variants to suit the various needs of the patients while providing more comfort and convinience for the patient."

So apparently, he won to my surprise. Reporters came to interview him and told him that he would be in the Chinese Morning Paper tomorrow. So go check it out if you understand Chinese. I don't but I know I will be buying it!!!
Oklah, because I also tak nak kalah, let me introduce what I had designed with my group (three of us, 2 guys only girl), which won us also a 1st prize no cash prize but we had a regconition certificate from the Institute of Engineers Singapore. The cert Dar want so badly. Well, we had to design:
"The aim of our project is to design and built a shower and toilet wheelchair especially for the elderly and disabled. This is to improve and enhance the life of the elderly and disabled. The wheelchair has to be foldable and portable so that it will be able to be put into a suitcase and be brought along when traveling. Not only that, other design factors are rigid and comfortable. The wheelchair has to be able to go over steps of 60 mm and be able to support a maximum weight of 80kg. Most importantly, the wheelchair has to be comfortable and safe to use."

Neat?? hehe not bragging but somehow, we have something else in common. An achivement in school. At least his would be in the papers, mine, went down the drain. Somehow the Malay reporter who interviewed my friend story did not get published.
So hopefully, his would be publish with their pics, lets just call them the 12 Men in Blacks. Hopefully, my Dar would look handsome!! Hokay, let me see, maybe I will buy 5 papers. I know crazy but even though I don't understand, there is the picture there, hopefully then I can frame it up and share it with his parents.
